With a part like a clutch i would go branded every time and not worry about poss hassle in the future. ap driveline for me in the landys i have done clutches in.

Technically its not that difficult, its just undoing nuts and bolts. I didnt fancy benching the transmission so have opted for taking the engine out. More time consuming but less hassle IMO. I know you can do it with an engine crane through the drivers door and using it to hoist the trans up and down but i needed to do a couple of other bits on the engine anyway.

Nothing major. Fitting my gauge senders so have modified an oil filter housing so the senders go where the oil cooler pipes are. I will be binning the cooler (might change the rad to an alloy one at some stage) Also fitting the water temp sender to the thermo housing so would need to drain the coolant anyway.

fair enough not sure it would make me take the engine out lo its not fun i alawys do anything i can to avoid taking one out lol
that oil cooler just seems a bit pointless to me and a right pain in the but when u need the rad out of the way i dont blame u leaving it off.

I ordered all the bits to do the timing belt on my fiancées diesel freelander, stated I wanted OEM... When I went to collect there was a pile of the dreaded blue boxes and was told it's ok they are OEM.... I opened them up and the quality of the tensioner was shocking, I hastily chucked it all back at them !

Made some progress over the weekend, new rear seal, new spigot, new flywheel and new clutch all fitted. Gearbox and transfer box back on along with the props.

Few bits need doing in the engine bay along with a new slave and brainded line and we should be good to go :D Got Wales in 2 weeks so need to sorted ASAP.

talking of the roof rack it saved me scraping my roof sunday got down a land and there was a tree a little lo thanks to the rack it just runn along it rather then dent the roof :) so il call it a roof cage :)
