Well today I am a happy bunny after replacing engine, box, axles, tranny and prop ujs I still had a clunk only when I was braking tho, really felt like taking lr tool no 1 to her  but after the steering drop arm getting jammed on the steering guard at eor the other week as you can see from the pic was very close

We had to strap it to mikes disco to give me steering back, so I decided to lob a bit of near the drop arm for clearance and hey ho I have no more clunks:D:), wonder how long that will last tho, but for now I'm clunk free at last:).

On another note where is every one, been very quiet on here lately;) we need to arrange some lanning trips.

Fitted my new steering damper and relocation kit over the weekend, thats was a chore :( Couldnt fit the bracket on the side of the chassis rail as the damper hit on the steering guard, didnt want to loose the guard as it would mean no recovery points for starters. Ended up taking the guard off, drilling to holes in the side and bolting the bracket to it :D

Worked a treat.

Afterwards i though i would stick my replacement wing on (current wing had a hole at the front where snorkel Mk1 went) and see where the water was coming in by the glovebox.

Water coming in here

Need a few dry weeks so I can paint the bloody thing.

First drive today since end of April so now already for tomorrows laning :D anyone interested in coming along 7.15 at Ongar Truck Park :)

Did you just use silicon?

Looks like tiger seal best stuff to use for snorkels as well,

On another note went out today over to Romford and the bloody things clunking again under braking:mad: is really starting to **** me off now, so im thinking should i replace radius arm bushes on the axle, and not sure to get normal or poly bush if I do?

just wondered as i ahve some holes in my defender but wasnt sure whether that would pass an MOT with that job haha

The MOT test wont pick apart a repair, were not alowed to remove any coatings e.t.c. so if you use a plate and tigerseal (which is all we use to seal screens, sunroofs, panels, gaskets e.t.c.) the testing station will have to pass it. Doesn't mean its the right way but it will pass...

Thanks mate for that information - foot well seals here we come!! (going to learn to weld and weld them really but would be a quick fix) Would you recommend this over silicon for the installation of a snorkel?

Are you a MOT tester then?
