Put my sensible hat on today and declined the TD5 :(

I am going to get myself a new car that'll give me a decent >40mpg as I am now having to buy pump diesel due to biodiesel supply problems :(

I am thinking VW passat estate or Audi A4 estate. Going to look round the dealers tomorrow.

I've decided against mm after reading reviews etc. on the laptop fine but iTunes reviews aren't good. This week I've bought the os Paper maps and put them in google maps. I know they're not constantly displayed but I've named the lanes by postcode/town so should be easy to call up! Trying it out Wednesday night so time will tell

Sorry, I know this was posted over a month ago, but I'm testing mm on the iPad. It's £83.66 to activate 3500 sq km  which in miles is less than an area 40 x 40 miles (apx the size of Essex).

This is at OS 1:25k Explorer GB map. What is everyone else using 1:50k?

Been looking at this myself,

If you buy the land ranger 1:50k DVD £99.99 you get the whole of Britan on DVD and the licence will let you Install it on 5 different devices, so you could instal it on ya pc or mac, iPad and IPhone don't bother with the shop credit Thingy it looks like a way of making more money out ya for downloading maps.

1:50 is fine for laning. 1:50 from memory £25 gets you 25000 sq kms.
i paid that a couple of months ago and now because i bought it close to the new map coming out I have now been able to up grade that 25000 to full map of GB for £60. total cost £85 for GB, for that price its not worth arsing about with hooky copies.

I like Ex company cars. I brought my last one from Chelmsford car auction. Wednesday day time sale best as very few private buyers, mostly traders paying no more than trade money.

If not frating (Colchester) on a Tuesday am same as chelmsford, mostly ex lease cars.

Here's the link to their site page defo says licence for 5 devices in the section where it say what's in the box
Memory-Map : Ordnance Survey Landranger 1:50,000 maps

Just looking at this mm site and i think this is a bit of a **** take, on the link I posted it says you can Install on 5 devices, but to load the maps to an iPad or iPhone you have to use the app that is 20 pound, as the free app will not load maps from a pc or mac and can only download from the map shop:confused: Geof could you ask them how this works when you speak to them would be good to know cheers

did wonder how long it would take, but then agian it is the "I brought an apple product and its the best" sindrom... that has finaly showing flaws as well

I use 1:50k but think Stu use's 1:25k

Correct, I do use 1:25,000, myself i find the detail better and and also have the whole country in it and also have most of the country in 1:50,000

One thing you can do with MM is you can scan a tif file of a map in and calibrate it and hey presto you have of a map in of any type.

I own a HP laptop as well an apple book.
Both work but the apple is by far my first choice for photo, web and video editing

Only complaint is the price of the mapping at 1:25000

Just spoke to MM , the upgrade to full UK and the £99 disc can all be used on 5 device's, £20 app needs to be downloaded for use on iphone/ipad and maps downloaded from digital map shop, probably because ipad/iphone don't have disc drive's.
My disc was sent out today so will have total uk on me netbook before our thetford trip.
