Damn mate ya not having much luck hope ya get it sorted soon and it's an easy fix;)

Was about 40 at 1500 rpm in 5th i recon it should only be bent push rods....well im hoping anyway will see tomorrow, ill take some pics tomorrow

Thats a bugger did you change the tensioner and idler aswell ?

Best use gen. set its about £110 then change the belt and timing cover seal every year and dont be tempted to over tighten the belt tension.
You can get a good Dayco belt for about £12 and Dayco make the original equipment, when I changed mine last year I had a gen set from LR and also a OE Dayco belt from Paddocks to compare belts, they looked and felt the same, always use corteco cover seal aswell. I take the wading bung out about 1once amonth and push a thin length of wire with about a 20mm 90deg bend on the end if that makes sense, it goes up into the bottom of the timing chest twist it and bring back down, if it has belt dust on it you know to change the belt quick.

I got the final arch welded on today  Something I've been meaning to do since summer  I've sealed it all up and will hopefully get round to painting it before the weekend. Then I've got a couple of bolts to replace, sort indicator relay out and remove half made rear bumper then I should be good for the MoT. The bushes *should* go through the MoT as the loose one isn't visible once caked in mud :D I might check the bearings but they were fine before Wales.

Yer Dayco make a lot of OE belts, not expensive either :)

The belt was a dayco that was put in in july along with a new OE tensioner and was tightened to 17nm with a dial type torque wrench which is why i dont understand the belt premuturely breaking??? i will definitely use your idea with the bit of wire to keep a eye on this one!

Anyway some gory pics!

Was gonna reuse the push rods because they looked straight to me but brian persuaded me to get a new set lmao!

Anyway all in all didn't take too long to sort out and starts and runs sweet as a nut, but really paranoid about it now and will be regularly checking it!

Finally a big thanks again to brian for helping me, chauffeuring me around and keeping me warm (not in a gay way lmao)......cheers mate!

That wood chopping lark does keep you warm. :)

Anyway, what are friends for if not to help in time of need. I was only too glad to do my bit, we need you at the pub tomorrow to guide us to this deep Ford I've been looking forward to.

That belt has only worn in one section look at those pics  To me it seems like something has jammed like the FIP and stripped the teeth :(

Strange

Had a good night laning around Harlow/Ongar/Moreton last night, lanes were excellent :D

However this morning the beast wouldnt start  think the starter is fooked :(

Sorted my fast flashing indicators out this morning. Removed the relay that was in there and changed it for a different one and it is sorted now :) Also pulled the RSJ off the back acting as a bumper. A few more bits and it'll be MoT time :)
