Old ****ted up engine back together this morning and purring like a pussycat :) I think the guy has learned his lesson lol...... veggie oil is bad unless you want to rebuild your engine every 6 months.

Symptoms were: very slow cranking in the morning, even with a jumpstart, slow gutless for the first few minutes of driving in the morning and once you open the engine up..... lots of brown/black toffee like stuff everywhere!

On another note :) I've sorted out my sloppy slow slow problem - It was one of the sensor wires broken. 2 new crimp terminals and it's fine again.

Off to a dealer to look at a TD5 90 trade-in today on an X plate..... wish me luck

Mine seems to running fine still  maybe he used too stronger mix of oil, I have rarely gone above 70/30.

Took the fuel tank inspection cover off to check out the sender and found this

took the connector off and gave it a clean and the gauge seems to work better now although i dont like the look of the pipes :(

Td5 90 ohh nice good luck mate.

Yesterday went out to me 90 and found diesel every where damn new fuel tank needed, can't understand how it just started ****ing out overnight thought it would have started off with a slow leak then built up to ****ing out every where didn't really want to be working on it in the cold weather balls.

Garage here if you want to borrow it Ian ;)

Tusken, he has been running a strict 50/50 mix. All direct injection engines will **** up eventually when started from cold on oil.

what type. pick up or van.

Got back a little while ago. It was a Epsom green van back X reg.

Full main dealer service history, 1 owner from new, waxoyled from new... Very interested in it. Just doing some number crunching and maths on fuel viscosities and flash points so I know I am safe with it on my own brand fuel lol!

If that's all ok then I'll chuck him an offer.

matt thanks for the offer but itll cost me a fortune to get to ya, its coming out as fast as you can put it in:doh:

comon tho you now the rules we needs pics of this 90 or aint true;);):D

td5 will run fine on bio doozel and your prob find youll get better fuel consumption than the 300 tdi and you could have it chipped speak to geof about what he gets.

I couldn't take pictures lol..... the guys would have thought I was going to go away and ring it

The TD5 engine needs a certain grade of fuel to work at its most efficient. Sadly 99.9% of biodiesel made in the UK is botched by people making large scale home brew as I was explaining to you - they're in it to fleece the public and line their pockets; quickly. This IS NOT suitable for using long term.

Proper made biodiesel is almost identical to dino on a molecular level. This is what I try to achieve on every purchase of biodiesel or home made batch I make.

I HAVE actually done a lot of spreadsheet work over the past 3 years of alternative fuels for diesel vehicles    I'm not turning into a Fish Pong - honest  :p

When I do purchase one, the first thing I will do is the re-map. I have the software on my laptop. I did my Transit when I had it and it went like **** off a shovel :) I'll also want a straight through pipe to hear that lovely weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and a egr removal kit.

Just got to finish off my numbers and see what the results are. My kitchen looks like a laboratory at the moment lol.

Well I can't afford a 90 yet (lucky git!) but my new wing arrived today and its a perfect colour match, albeit its the only panel without dents, full of scratches and covered in mud (it'll soon the match the rest of the Disco  ).

Hopefully get fitted at the weekend.

Just ordered some 265/75/16s :D Bring on the snow
What did you get in the end ?
Fitted mine a couple of week ago, now finding it harder to get in.
I'll have to get a set of steps soon & before anybody says anything. I'm getting older & finding it harder to get me leg up.:D
I just need to find a spare now, cos my old spare is 2" smaller in dia.

I could be interested at the right price, was going to look on ebay for a 235/85 as i though it would be easier to fit on the rear door but not that fussed.

Went for Kingpin Advantage MT's, its a BFG MT copy.

I'm gutted !
That's what I was looking for but nobody had any & nobody would give me a delivery date so I ended up with Insa Dakar, has the same pattern.
And cost more !
