Give the brakes disks and hubs a good jet wash with the wheel off after going to bures you probably got a load of **** caked up in and around the sensors

Was just responding to it

Yup, take each wheel off and give a good clean. One spec near anything and it can throw it off

The following day I went to start my car and there was just a click! I thought - flat battery! Tried my other battery-still just a click! So .....

I called Brian - he told me to hit starter motor! Then it started!

It starts 27 times out of 30, but ya know it's just gonna get worse! So I thought I would by one now and keep it in the boot!

Get a second hand one and put that on, then drop the iffy one to Tiptree and get it reconned. I have just dropped off a starter motor and alternator to be done, always handy to have a few spares.

Yeah that's what I'm gonna do, gonna give tiptree a call tomorrow.

Am buying a working one off Matt. .

Brian is kindly picking it up for me.

I cleaned out loads of clay from my mud and brakes when I got home on Sunday, they were caked.

On Monday I drove 75 miles to work in London and half way there the ABS light came on and stayed on. It worked as normal on the way home so I am hoping it was just a bit of rouge grit in one of the sensors.

ABS problems can be an arse to sort and both my last discos had issues.

New rear calipers on saturday so will have new brakes all round so I hope they all behave.

What's ABS
That's when you take you're foot off that black thing in the middle in it.
No ABS, no electric, no radio the list is endless :D

Will have to get my alternator sorted, got one that has seized bearings but electrics are good, and one that runs free but no charge, so going to take them a part to make a good one hopefuly then will have to get the nasty one to the man that does......

Johny had to put a 30amp fuse in mine as it just kept blowing fuses also any fan that sits behind the radiator should suck air:)

I'll have a go at rewiring today mate, thanks for that. Yours is also a mondeo fan if i remember correctly?

I've now got an ES spec discovery in stock that may go for breaking depending on if it's faults can be fixed cheaply or not. If fault is fixed then it will be up for sale. Last of the Disco 1's, ES spec 98 reg tdi.
