guys, question....

is it worth fitting a wading kit to my 90? She currently got a safari snorkel for the air intake. Is it really worth it?

For the sake of 20 quid, i'd do it. I've actually got some pipe here if you like. You just need to connectors. At least do your diffs, tranny and gearbox ;)

Yes... Water anywere in side your engine, axles, gear boxes is bad news.......

its esy to do, and can save a load of hassle , doing it also make sure your old breather are not blocked.... mine were, so when you get a hot axle cold you could of sucked in water or blow out the seals when they get hot..

do it for Wales tho, cause we could be finding some deep water on the starta florida, look at you tube you'll see what i mean....

also to clarify, would i need four breathers:

Front Axle
Rear Axle
Gearbox
Transfer Box

correct/too many/missing something??

Think I did 5 on mine

Front diff
Rear diff
Transfer box
Gearbox
Bottom of timing belt housing

LANDROVER SERIES 1,2,3 BREATHER KIT ,WADING KIT 5 -1 | eBay

Thats the guy I brought mine off, it had wrong connectors in, basicly he did not want to know, so I had to buy more....... so beware. HAve a look at this thread

but I have also done the Fuel Tank one as well as that just lies at the floor level, near the filler pipe. I would buy the bits that you need and jsut fit it, all you need is some

Nylon Pipe 8mm or 6mm think about 20m will do.
2 x 18" Bsp Banjos for the Axels
2 x 1/8" BSP Banjos for the Gear Boxes
1 x Bulkhead Banjo for the Timing Belt cover (if you not got Air con)
the feul Breather pipe is 8mm so a stright though for the old pipe to suit the pipe your brought
1 x Manifold...... speak to Matt, he has some to sell
Tyraps

Dont think I forgot anything

OH yeah wading plugs cheep of ebay...

Got some more welding done today. Stopped now as it is bloody baking outside!

Just got round the fuel filler to do then it is ready for some primer and paint!!

Will have to mask off my new chassis then spray all underside with stoneguard then a top coat of dinitrol or something.

Tell me about it matt Got me passengers side out Riger welded up today but its to hot and I'm sweating like a pig so that's enough for today, need a beer now:) the front dumb irons can wait, as all the rad and prob front wings will need to come off once I start grinding down the rust.

Got me thinking about wading prep for wales, So far i have:

Front and Rear Axel extended breathers (to be fitted)
Gearbox and transfer box breathers (to be fitted)
Safari snorkell (fitted to donaldson airfilter)
Exmoor trim Land rover Wolf Rad Muff (too be fitted)
Bell Housing and timing case plugs (too be fitted)

is there anything else i need to think about?

Also, you might of noticed i have extended wheel arches on mine, great, but this leaves a cavity between the wheel arch and the wing leaving my wiring loom exposed....

I was thinking i could use a strip of aluminium, cut to shape with a jig saw, then drilled and screwed into either side (where the plastic pins that hold the old arches used to fit). Thoughts on this?

Also, will i need to seal my battery box?

All you need to worrk about is is your snorkel sealed..... ie block off the intake at the top if the engine stalls more or less straigh away you have no leaks.....

dont worry about Battey box - unless you got ECU and or anything electronic ( ie. split charge sysytem) in it

Wirring loom should be no problem unless you got an ECU of some sort exposed to the ingress of water.

if your CB or anything is near floor level just bear in mind that Landys are NOT sealed.... and you do get wet feet....

Well aware of that! Landy Air Con....

but yeah, have made sure I dont have anything electircal in the foot well.

On the subject of CBs, do you know anywhere in essex that i can get my hands on the cabling for the CB?

I have a CB and mic in the garage, but no power/aerial cables...
