Thanks wickford thats what i been trying to do just to get a grounding and understanding off them never done off roading before and you want to collect info what ever why you can but yes defo to simple i have ruled out the ES as all that leather what a waste

The leather is not a waste, it's essential. :)

I'm local if you want to come look round mine I will show you some points to check. Mine has rusty parts and would be a good example of one to avoid. ;)

It's the mechanical side and inside that's the saviour for mine, the rust can and will be sorted.

Did Brian tell you guys that he got me and my 9 month old son, BARRED from my local garden centre that I have been going to for the past 3 years
how you get barred from a garden centre:doh:

cos I said to Brian, "there cheaper on Ebay" talking about chicken coops

the owner, told us to leave, and said that we was breaking the law cos I was promoting another buisness **confused**

moral of story, don't take brian to garden centre

so next time we all go out laning can we all meet up outside the garden centre, so I can put a home made banner up over his sign saying "Ebay is Cheaper" pls

****in hell, 4 pages since last night! And I wasn't part of it :(

Been doing the accounts and I have the totals of what this Land Rover has cost me so far....... And I'm not telling

I can't think where it has all been spent :confused::confused:

It also puts the price up, all the electrics dont like water in a ES.... if you want a seat surface you can clean the just get some decent covers take them off and stick them in the washing machine, but then again i just wipe my covers in situ.

One thing to remmeber is electroncs go wrong the least amount you have the better in my book........

I would have had an ES but at the time I couldn't find anything near and around the age I wanted apart from the one I have now.

The electrics are BASIC. There isn't one central brain like on a lot of new cars (thankfully), most things are controlled on their own circuits making it a lot easier to find the problems if you have the brains to do it. A few seconds, minutes, hours with a multimeter tends to find most problems ;)

My ES is an early one with no electronics. No power or heated seats or cruise. Just leather, lecky roofs and everything works. The Switches all light up at night and all speakers changed and running off a mint origional head unit. I even have the cd changer working.

Mine is a rare one though. ;)

Yeah it's rare alright.... hates wearing a n/s wing mirror :D

Mine hasnt even got sunroofs let alone electric ones :D I like to think of it as the 'Motorsport version' :D

At least i dont get wet when it rains ;)

Dislocation cones turned up today so another job to do

Got my first rock slider done, I know the welding aint that neat and maybe a bit burn here and there but a rub down and spray and should do the job. And yes Matt i did get penetration in the end, got half way through the welding and realized only had it on low power. **** taking will not be tolerated under any circumstance's.
