....300 miles, that's about how many you'd get for a tank of fuel. He's described the fault accurately, and filled it up with fuel since he bought it right?

Sounds like he's just changed his mind about the car and wants to try getting some/all money back, now the snow's gone.

sorry mate i find it impossible to believe that the crank has broke as the iron its made of is so bloody hard and also the crankshaft is the only part of any car thats not covered by insurance or warranty as theyre so indestructible

any way sold as seen so no returns accepted so heres 20p and fone someone who gives a **** (thats wot yer tell him )

It's a private sale. Once he's handed over the money and driven away it's his problem. Sounds like he's trying it on to get some of his money back.

If I was you I wouldn't assist in any way at all, not even helping him to source an engine - it may make it look as though you're accepting some degree of liability for the breakage.

There isn't even any guarantee that it's the same engine.?? he could have a knackered Disco with a dead engine and he's now trying to con you. Or he could have driven into a snowdrift and screwed the arse off it, or gone thru Ice and hydraulic'ed the engine..

Tell him to fook orf if he get's in touch again..
