So who has put a 2.0 rover turbo lump in a freelander?
It probabley would of been but there was another engine there to try so I did.
When the 3rd one was nackered I'd had enuf of it and scrapped the car.
Even if I found a good one there is no saying how long it would of lasted.
I know this is an old post and topic but I had to say something.... you know for internet correctness.i've often wondered wether a honda lump would fit being as rover used the same gearboxes and electrics on some 90's rovers but aint got a clue.
so why not change the stem seal instead of procuring another engine? stems seals are pennies to buy and easier to replace than a whole engine. The 3 I put in mine last week 1st one stem seals nackered 2nd bottom end nackered 3rd chucked all the oil into inlet so that ones nackered as well.
Its handy having 2 garages in the family sometimes.
I'm not sure that's true: I don't believe that Honda used any Rover petrol engine (other than in re-badged Discovery 1s).I know this is an old post and topic but I had to say something.... you know for internet correctness.
no rover used honda engines, but honda did use rover engines. when the rover 214, 216, 218 etc were on the go in the 90s honda used the k series engine in their accord. now I always thought they were pretty good engines why the k series is such a flop in the freelander i don't know. I was looking at buying a freelander this weekend but after reading about them I'm really put off the idea. but yes, put a honda engine in a freelander and it will still be k series.... same as what's in freelander already
Rover 600 used Honda engines in petrol form (2.0 and 2.3) Rover 800 used the Honda 2.7 V6 and even HHR Rover 400 used a Honda engine on the 1.6 auto
I'm not aware of any Rover petrol engine used in a Honda (apart from the Honda Crossroads rebadged Discovery)
You do know Jap cars also adhere to the same laws of physics don't you??? Meaning they can and do break as well. I don't know you fully back story, but a few posts reading in on this thread and I sort of get the feeling..... well you knowI should of kept a lot of things of it the clutch was new only done about 10miles. I won't be having another one that's for sure. Going jap this time I think.
Did you check the date of that post? Don't think he's around hereabouts too much. You do know Jap cars also adhere to the same laws of physics don't you??? Meaning they can and do break as well.
