Hi guys, this is a question for a friend, he has just put head gasket on his disco300tdi also replaced rad and water pump, problem is massively overheating, we have been bleeding system for last 2 days blowers hot all hoses hot, new thermostat but still as soon as he drives 5 miles water peeing out of expansion tanks and no water in bottom hoses. Any ideas I'm stumped now.

Well this problem is very new head gasket was done about 6 weeks ago and fine up until 5days ago when the rad began leaking

has a pressurising cooling system caused the rad to go? sounds like the original problem isnt remedied. but i had a cavalier about 20years ago that had 3 headgaskets before i found the pressure cap wasnt holding pressure. it would overheat at normal temps and dump coolant out of the header tank.

I actually have this same issue....new head gasket, new water pump, skimmed head, new viscous coupling....pushing the water out of the expansion tank....contemplating changing to a new head(have a new style head and head gasket)...any more advice is appreciated....oh and the head was tightened to the values quoted and using the angle gauge

face the same problem before. i've changed all the head bolts (M10 x 117cm 4 pcs, M12 x 140mm 10 pcs, M12 x 100mm 4 pcs) then problem solved... hope will solve yours too.

Ended up marking all head bolts up after tightening with white marks so could check quickly if problem returned. Seems perfect this far. :)
