Engine ooot...

I get your doubts. But the indie reported the engine arrived from RPI in a crate and was basically immaculate. He dropped it in at 84k. I bought it at 86k.

He did tell me recently that the owner roasted the lump not days after he collected it up from the indie... Turned out to be the AC condenser fins were blocked (which was highly likely what killed the original engine).

Then it sat for 5yrs before I collected it... That's the history.

I have spent a fortune on this car o_O

I reckon RPI have some expkaining then. As temperature rose the viscous should have cooled it from behind. How blocked can the rads have been? I've been wading through river mud and my rads were more ceramic than metal but I never cooked the engine.

I can lend you a dremel.

This romantic association with your engine is preposterous, either goo it, tig it, or go get Wazza's unknown.

I have a Dremmel and many many other tools.... But I don't have a "bodge it" tool. So while I understand the "sell it as is" idea, I cannot and will not do that to someone else as it hurts to be shat on and I have enough hurt to end my lifetime and some to pass on in my will.

It's not romantic or looking for jeebus, it's just doing the right thing because it's the right thing to do. Something I have instilled in my son. He "know's" doing the right thing allows you to sleep soundly

I sleep fine, there are bodges and there are work-arounds,
of course a nice new or good block would be easy to throw in, and that's what I'd do...if I was keeping it.

Where u gonna find an honest block?

I have spake with a member who has what seems to be a good running lump.

I have spend money on many tools and an engine crane load leveler tool as I had some fun (not fun) with my pal while removing the engine.

So it looks as if I may have to go to a foreign land and remove a lump

However, said member has come up with an amazing (and remarkably kind) offer.

He must be related :)

It will be as honest as I can be with it.
Video (hopefully) of it running ok tomorrow.
Basically free (cost of collection only)
Did 40k in it without missing a beat. Only reason it was laid up is a multitude of minor, non engine related issues.
Much the same way as my L322 is going!

That's great, hope it's a goodun.

Are you going to install Wazza's engine wholesale?

It's currently under debate... I feel it is an amazing offer. But the issue is having to drive eleventy squillion miles to remove yet another engine!

If it was sitting in a garden ready to go, I'd leave tomorrow at early o'clock. But I'll need to prepare tools, engine crane and so on...So still likely, but I need to prep.
to journey dahn saff and remove a lump and all that is involved with that particular torture o_O
