Okay I bought an engine off ebay. It arrived today and these photos below show some damage. what are my options. The first image is the picture from ebay.

Not sure about that bit myself. The other broken bit looks like the back of the water pump housing, which may be part of the timing case.Front left at the manifold level. not sure what should be attached to the triangular bit that is bolted to the engine.

Might have been longer than 20 years, I suspect that it out of a Rover Sdi.Well the OP sounded a little surprised.
But as it looks like it’s been under a bench for 20yrs, I hope it was cheap and not expecting it to be popped in this weekend and get it running.
sure all those bits are getable.
