Good afternoon all.
I’m back. To paraphrase Granny Weatherwax, “ I ain’t dead, just recovering”
As I know that all members here are of a sensitive disposition and easily distressed by anything too graphic, I will not upset them with the gory details of my indisposition. Suffice to say that, touch wood, I am up and about.
This is more than can be said of the P37½A which, upon my return, shows about two dozen faults, including some I’ve never seen before. There are also various unrelated faults on the dashboard but most of those have been there for several years and have not troubled me or the car.
As I said before, the compressor is not running at all, although I have checked the turn on/off buttons of the diagnostic. I replaced the pump a couple of years ago, but even on its last legs, it did make some effort. The replacement has run very well ever since, suddenly just not a sound. I wondered about the fuse or fuses, but was not sure how to identify the appropriate one.
M. Renault says it is all beyond him and my next port of call may have to be a fairly knowledgeable independent but this would be a last resort as he is rather far to want to drive on the bump stops.
