EGR Valve

Hi guys, my Freelander 1 has been jumpy when idle and not performing great. Took the egr valve off and started to clean it. It was really clogged up.

Question is should I be able to move the valve with force myself to make sure it opens & closes ok? Can’t seem to move it at all!

Not sure if I should use more force or buy a new egr part if it should move quite freely!

Any suggestions appreciated

Very hard to move by hand but not impossible. Should move but not freely with a gentle push.

Pull a vacuum lower than 20in/hg on the pipe, and it should move.
