I've just took my EGR valve off to clean... but can't get the braided hose off it.. I have a sneeky suspicion that if I try and pull it it' gonna break as it feels 'brittle'. Might just have to clean the valve where it is :(

Holy cow!! Just looked in the manifold (is that what its called)!! Looks like that needs a more attention than the valve itself!
Gonna have to take that off too me thinks!

It's wise to replace all the vacuum pipes anyway. You can buy the stuff by the metre, and you'll need about 3 metres to change them all.

Yes, that's pretty normal and won't be doing the performance any good. You'll need to remove the manifold completely and clean out the pile of goop that's in there. ;)

Manifold removed and currently sat in some degreaser ;)

You're doing a good/thorough job, well done!

Be careful of that black gloop, its gets everywhere. When I did my L Series I thought I was clean, but a tiny spec on your shoe makes a big mess on a cream coloured carpet when you go inside!

If only you could see me now GG... decided it was too hot for overalls.... big mistake!!

Where is the best place to get this piping?

Here you go, you are doing a good job did you completely clean the manifold out, and when you did clean, was the MAP sensor removed to do so, if not it may have got damaged.

You could also change the leak off joint from plastic to brass a lot more safe, as the plastic ones can and do go brittle.

I always have at least four manifolds clean and ready to fit to R40 or FL1 for our meets.
