Hi folks, looking for some advice please?

During the week my discovery 3 broke down, I managed to get it safely off the road. The RAC came out and ran a diagnostic on the engine and said the erg valve's were faulty.

After taking some advice I bought the deletions kit and done it myself. After doing this the car has is still doing the same thing.

Any ideas for what to do next?

Thanks in advance

You need to read the codes.
What year is the car?

I think he means please describe what it is doing, lack of power/non start/smoke/lights flashing etc etc?
Hi, the car is accelerating and it suddenly looses power then goes into a limp mode. You can sit for a few minutes and it drives them then. There's no smoke it just looses power then the usual engine management system failure comes on then disappears. I can go out to the car right now and it starts. I think it's something simple I am missing

Could be lack of fuel, there is a schrader (same as car tyre valves) test point under the engine cover at the back of the engine.
If you google you can find the pressure and flow rates, both are pretty low.

Fuel filter been changed recently? if so what make filter?

Hi, yes, the mechanic has just changed to fuel filter. I'll go out and try to find out the make of the filter. May I ask a learner question, what do you check the fuel filters pressure?

Hi

Plus 1 what’s already been mentioned

Wonder if the turbo actuator arm is sticking as that will cause limp mode, as u turn the engine off u should hear the actuator arm move back and forth , it’s part of the software program which aids the prevention of the arm sticking

If u accelerate hard will it go into limp mode around the 2,000 rpm range plse and then will reset turning the engine off and then back on again

Indeed as mentioned need the codes , heard the Autel Ap200 is another basic reader for around £80 , need to ensure it’s the white one and need to read the small print , there are cheaper ones but have to be careful as some don’t have all the functions

As a side note when u done the egr blanking did u also keep the egr pipes in situ plse , also very wise to clean the Map sensor at the same time as they can and do get blocked up

Hope that also helps u

Fuel pressure should be 0.5 bar or 7 psi / when ign or engine on

If it's the fuel filter on the chassis rail by the OSF wheel arch, have the connectors been put on the right way round? P2290 from memory is the DTC it sets, along with lack of fuel flow.
