Ecu cant be re-flashed

Hi All,
Had my 2000 td5 in a local independant garage today for a re -map. They have told me that the ecu is the earlt type and cannot be re-flashed.
Do i need to have a new chip fitted and can anyone recommend any one near to me ( Preston ) or a mobile company.

Best person to speak to is gary at TD5alive, he'll be able to sort you out! He made me a temporary ECU and posted it to me so that my car would still work while my ECU was being done!

Mike Jones at Dynachip can do pretty much the same. Dynachip profesional ecu remapping

ditto...your ECU has to have a tuned chip hard wired in the ECU, early ones cannot just be plugged in. (bummer-this would be much easier)
TD5 Alive (or Alive Tuning as they are now known) are the people to speak to
