you get the best price by bidding as much or little as your willing to pay - and then walking away, bidding the minimum at the last few seconds is pointless, you'll hardly ever win anything

a better approach is to have ebay tell you when a certain item comes on (via their search reminders) and get in early and offer the seller a cash sale

that's how i got this tidy little diesel compression for peanuts just before xmas

Yeah I got my BMW that way , saved nearly three grand, nice!

Yeah but if we all waited till the end you might have got it for a tenner.

It seems like people want to be the highest bidder on any given day when the last day is all that counts! last few seconds really!

No use to any one being the highest bidder on day three of a seven day auction is it!
your not making sense.
If im the highest bidder on day three of a 7 day auction and you bid less or eaqual to me on the last 30 seconds-you lose.Simples.Ive not paid over the odds for it and i dont need to stay up till all hours to make sure i win any thing.WOuld you turn up to a proper auction and wait till he sed "going twice" before putting yer first bid in?All very dramtic and exciting for you but very pointless.

Fett maybe you should approach ebay and ask for 30secs auctions and it cant cost more than a tenner for all items because you obviously cant comprehend that if someone wants something they'll bid on it whether its got 7 days to go or 7 secs.I bet you wouldn't be complaining if you were selling something and it was working to your advantage.

I did make that point clear earlier.

It also proves my overall point too, so thanks!:D

but it doesnt :doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:

Why do people go and bid against each other when the auction still has like 6 or 7 days to run, all they do is push up the price all week for no reason!

The last 30 seconds is all that counts and we could all save so much money!

i get newly listed item reminders and listings from fav sellers a couple of days after they av bin listed.... niot very useful :(

Does
Does
Does
Does x infinity!!!:p

having disagread with you for the entire length of this thread .....

a 200 engine appeared on ebay a few months ago, description along the lines of "dead - doesnt turn more than 90 degrees" - start price of 99p

that's the kinda thing i buy lots of, usually put £55 on a walk away - winning many more than i dont

however - thinking differently, i left this 99p start one untill the last minute, thinking well if i bid on it other people might think it's worth something and also bid it up - anyways i got it for £1.04

make of that what you will :)

Yeah I know what you mean, I managed to get an entire p38 jack kit for £5.01 because I did that, bargain!

Either , normally do word then zero in with all the options and save the search, takes all the hassel out of searching!
