that does indeed look fun, making it even better having ur dad with u

wow that is going to be an awesome pressie for ur son, u might get a phone call , oh dad how do u select 4 x wheel drive again as i’m erm , on a beach , somewhere, lol

many moons ago i done a chassis swap on one of my series 3 and christ almighty those bulkheads are heavy , still adored the smell of old oil , didn’t even have to unbolt the seat base as it just came away and found the chassis had more plates on it that the 7th bridge ,

hats off to u and look forward to some more pics , plse
Yep, had that too... When I uncovered the chassis, it had some very "interesting" welding on key places like the spring hangers and rear section. So bought a new quarter section and other new bits and had fun with the grinder and welder tacking up. Got a professional welder from work to do the final welds as I can't weld that well in the flat let alone vertical and upside down. Used POR15 on the chassis which I hope will stand the test of time.

wished i had taken pics at the time , don’t think there was much left of the original chassis , just plates here there and everywhere

had to get a new chassis complete for mine, with everything unbolted the chassis actually flexed , so was a complete scrap job , think welding has moved on as it must be 25 x years since i tried , lol

did find it a massive achievement though when ur finished , surprising how long it actually takes and also how involved it is , does teach u though in maintenance that’s for sure

OK so I reckon we should aim to meet 9:30-10. Can we get an idea of how many vehicles and I'll call them in the morning, if you copy and paste the list and add your name-
