EAS question rear rises on its own whilst driving.

Excellent info thanks guys. Got an EAS lead on it's way (Ta Datatek) so will have a look at live readings and see what's going on. Will check the pressure as per the how to then drill some holes in it but not sure it's a heat thing as it did it within 2 miles of home with no load in it. The possibility of the height sensor going out of normal range seems plausible. Is there anything on live readings that will show it?
There are no live readings while moving as such, but you can check the sensor readings and command movement to see how the readings go.
If the compressor is working hard, it can reach more than 100C, that's where the heat comes from and the driver pack is right next to it. PM me with an Email address and I'll send you a photo of where I put the holes to minimise crap getting into the box.

Ok I'll have a poke around when the lead arrives. Will post up any issues I can find but it does sound like the sensor may have travelled out of it's operating range. Has had a new front sensor but vehicle has been stood for a while so a little exercise might help!

Give the whole system a good going over, overhaul pump, valve block & change bags if needed make sure it's leak free and
calibrate on flat level surface with correct tyre pressure.

A good working EAS is a pleasure, a faulty one is a :fencing: so stay on top :)

Has had 4 new Arnott bags and a height sensor in the last 1000 miles fortunately only leaves pump and valve block to check. Has no other issues just this odd behaviour.

Check the white plug behind the trim panel at base of passenger A post for corrosion and damp. It is the connection from the height selector switch to the ECU. A short in that can cause unwanted commands.

Right, have finally plugged in to check data using eas suite. Have 2 faults, 7 vehicle has moved (fixed leak so should sort that) 4 LR height sensor incorrect. I might be a muppet but I can't see where to clear these faults to see if they recur. Have checked and cleaned connections so wanted to clear and retry.

Also, should the actual readings on heights match exactly the set heights? I have a one point discrepancy on one rear sensor and 5 on a front. It gets worse on high mode with the fronts being 15 or so out.

Thanks again!!

Edit: sorted the code clearance, case of rtfm....

Vehicle has moved can be ignored, it simply means there has been a height adjustment after the ignition was turned off.
LR sensor is what it say's it is, a dodgy sensor reading. could be the sensor itself or the connector is corroded.
Actual heights will vary from the set heights according to how level the ground is, any drop from leaks etc.

hi I have a p38. and getting random eas problems. I do tow a large caravan and it tows perfect.i have had the issue when it rises at the rear when caravan first removed.
but now vehicle will rise to offroad position when driving for no reason.where are the sensors located and is it possible to clean them.

Do a search, sure we have covered this before. Of course the rear will raise when you take the weight off the tow hitch. It could also go into fault mode as the sensors go out of their normal operating range.:)

Update on this driven 300 miles found it wasn't as bad if I locked it on motorway mode but I have a recurring fault with rear left sensor so it looks like this might be my issue. Going to order one and will feed back results.
