That isn't a problem, drill some holes in the well. Maybe wrap the electonics in a LR branded carrier bag. Problem solved.

Components rated at 85C, compressor running temperature up to 120C underbonnet temperatures in the 80'sC, heat trapped in the top of the box, recipe for problems with anything electronic, less a case of disguising a fault as giving the components a better chance of surviving.
New driver packs would, I guess, be likely to be a good few years old.
That's my take on it - hence I fitted a new driver pack AND a fan on the EAS lid. Now, my compressor never gets more than fairly warm to the touch where as before it used to be burny hot.

Same as me. I drilled holes months ago in my box to dissipate the heat. Not a problem since-even when towing the tin tent in the heat of this summer.

This is my take on venting it. A series of small holes directly above the compressor as well as some slightly larger vent holes as others have done. I have some black steel mesh from a Cooler Master pc case to fit under the holes to trap debris, but not got around to it yet - and I might not bother...

So after running with the 2 fans now for a while and not having any EAS issues, I decided to make it a permanent feature and decided to neaten up the install
First was to fit 2 much slimmer fans on the inside of the lid
Then 2 vent covers, loads of designs out there, these were just 99p for the pair!!! and 99p for a sureseal connector
back in the car and plug in the eleccy

How much room is there between the top of the box and the bonnet insulation?

I think fans are totaly unnecessary, vent holes are all that is required. Mine has also been totaly reliable just with the vent holes.

Not had a problem mind but prevention is better than trouble, plus it looks a lot nicer too.

Water and dirt ingress, I wouldn't even have an opening in the top surface, mine are at the side on the sloping edge.

Wouldn't have thought so but, it would look s**t and get full of s**t over time.
I am sure Land Rover could have saved a couple of quid here, but compare the P38 under bonnet to the new one, covers everywhere which I am sure are only cosmetic.
