Hi there and hello!

2004 model L322 TD6 vogue with "Air Suspension Inactive" displayed on dash.
Read fault codes with omnitech reader
(116: Reservoir pressure static when filling)
Cleared codes & carried out 15mile r/t with no issues or concerns.
Have live data on scan tool advising reservoir pressure min 9.0bar max 20.0bar.
pressure was between 9.4-11.4 so seems ok.?.?.?.
Thinking possibly worn/tired compressor???
Has anyone stripped one of these units down or have you any other advice?
Have seen RSW video on re-calibrating EAS: Has anyone done this and is it advised??
Many thanks for any help!!
Mick

Probably compressor dead
Mine done the same and it turned out to be the compressor Knackered

Regarding the EAS calibration, as long as you carefully read the instructions it can be quite beneficial to calibrate your system as when I done mine, my heights where quite out.
Good luck

Thanks for that Hippo.
Where did you source the new one or did you get it overhauled somewhere?
What did you do with the old compressor?
Wouldn't mind getting me hands on a knackered one to see if there are any mods to
do that might save us all a few bob!
And where did you get the eas calibrated?
(I am in Herts too so looking for a reasonable recommendation!!)
Thanks again for your help and sorry for all the questions!
Mick
P.s: Is it Hippo or Mr Hippo?

Hi Mick,

I bought a brand new unit online actually, as far as I know, no one does a refurb kit for the l322 pumps ? There is A refurb available for the p38 pumps but not the l322 ones.

I do still have the old pump in the garage as kept it for the same idea as yours, maybe try and repair it ! Lol

I calibrated the system myself using my "all comms" diagnostic software
Or any local specialist should be able to do it ?

Where abouts are you in herts ? I may be close enough to do it for you if you like ?

Lol - hippo is fine ! A tad misleading as I originally created my username for my freelander I used to own but I have gone up in the world since then ! Haha
Thanks !

I am in WGC. Or all over Herts when at work!
Seems ridiculous to replace whole unit just for worn out pump. And I hate to admit defeat!
And I'm very tight! Lol! Wouldn't be too bad if it was a hundred pounds!
There's an independent LR specialist locally who might have an old one lying around!
(My brother is a little bit anxious about me pulling his new toy apart without a guaranteed fix! Some people!)
I thought my busy times were over when the ML went!

I agree with Hippo.....sounds like a duff Compressor....

Easier and simplier just to fit a new one - you can't get service parts for the L322 unit.

I also recommend getting hold of the RSW All Comms - I have recalibrated mine and 2 others L322 ride heights and it works a charm....

Not only that, but it will read and clear fault codes from all the other systems too....

The legend that is Storey Wilson is a fecking genius....

Anyhoot - Compressor is the most likely cause.

So where's the cheapest recommended retailer? And is it the same as an X5?
Doesn't look toooo challenging .
Will look into software but have quite comprehensive unit already. Communicates with pretty much every system. How often does eas require calibrating? Might be easier to pay one of you nice chaps a rental fee.......

RST landrover were the cheapest for me. not same as X5, dont think x5 even has air suspension ??

only needs calibrating if you fit bigger wheels or a sensor is broken etc...

who ever is closest may be able to help you out

nice bunch on here aint we ? :D:D

Island4x4 list it at £235 - RST at £314

When I plug my All Comms in (aslong as I havn't had to go to far) - I usually just ask that next time you go to Tesco and you see the fine old gentleman carrying his Help For Heroes or Poppy Appeal tin - bung a few quid in that....

I sent my old thermostat to a guy in Scotland, he offered to pay - I just said make a donation to a suitable charity - it only cost me a few quid to send, so by the time he would send back a cheque or whatever seemed pointless....

We are a good bunch :D

before shelling out for a new compressor have you removed the relief valve in the wheel well near the compressor it even comes with an elbow attatched to the plastic bracket to replace it ,its just on push fit fittings and takes about 20 secs to remove and fit the elbow, mine did this and took the valve in to work and checked it and it was lifting at about 6 bar as the spring in it had gone , its worth trying it before you replace the compressor, the other bit you can do is to replace the brass inlet filter on the compressor as it can become choked and limit the air flow .just a couple of things to think about.

Thanks for all your help n advice!
Stuck new turtle shell in boot, cleared warning light, and now no problems!
(Sorry for delay, been tied up with a Fiat wiring loom! Pls don't ask!)
So once again a big Thankyou for all the help n advice!
Now does anyone know where I can get ride height reset?
Ta
Mick
