green is the best colour:cool:

Yeah - I know this is going to be a mission in one way or another but expressions like, it'll be a doddle, how hard can it be? etc - trip lightly off the tongue before the reality lands with a heavy thud.

Yes, its a lot of fun, and the P38's are much better at it than a lot of people think. The body work mods were mostly done in green lanes - very green - gorse bushes, hawthorne, some dents from stone walled lanes, even the tyres were fitted on a weekend away when we shredded the all weather tyres on Scapa Florida. Snorkel and rock sliders are recent additions and yet to be tested.

Door trim, sounds fun....
What's scapa Florida ?
Pardon my ignorance...
They are a very capable bus indeed. We do a trip once a year to land-legend here in France.
Three days of offroading for 70€ and camping along with an onsite restaurant and beer tent with a band.
This year I didn't break anything but did nearly roll it on a forest trail on a hillside... That was effing scary...:D
Good luck with the trim clips;)

Now that sounds like a lot of fun - apart from the roll - but I nearly turned mine over on a green lane too - also a bit scary. Thats doing it properly with a band and beer tent.
In my case the only reason I did not go over was because the lane was too narrow and the bank on the other side stopped me tipping all the way.o_O

The gets better all the time - I have not got any schrader valves - this is going to be a doddle!
Lucky you. Mine has. Tomorrow's job, if it remains reasonably dry, is two new front airbags, refit valve block and new pump and see if the bloody thing works.

Looking a bit battered now.View attachment 192595

The Terrafirma ones?

You don't want to see a Land Rover on its roof with no roll cage. I rolled sideways down a slope once but thankfully it went all the way over and landed on the side. Fortunately I wasn't wearing the seatbelt so I was like a hamster in a ball.
