Download the free software from www.rswsolutions.com buy a connecting cable, plug your laptop in and read the fault codes. You can also clear the faults with this software. Otherwise take to an indie L/R specialist to have the fault codes reset.
If you put your approximate location, there maybe someone nearby who could help.

I have two laptops one an Acer with no serial port, have to use a serial to usb adaptor. Even with correct drive cannot get it to sync with EAS.
I also have an old Dell with serial port connects every time no problem.

Right i went to the supermarket lastnight and on returning to my carpark 'EAS fault' flashed up on dash, all lights on the hight selector lit up and were flashing. Could not adjust height. Did what i always do when faults show, i switch off ignition then start it again but fault was still there. Checked under the bonnet and the eas unit was making the usual noises etc and nothing out of the ordinary. I left the car for an hour or so went back out and fault had gone. Everything working as it should. Drove to work and everything is working fine. Anyone got any ideas?

If you read the faults it will probably say height sensor reading out of range, could be water in the connector.

have had a lot of snow and its been really wet the last few days! But it has been fine since last night and have been driving around all day. Where are the height sensors located so i can check Datatek?

Assuming it's a P38, they are mounted inboard on the chassis rails just behind the front axle and in front of the rear axle. Look them up on RAVE.
I have had problems with water in the front offside height sensor connector, after cleaning the contacts, I refitted the connector with a generous amount of silicone grease around the connector body and where the wires enter. May just be luck, but no problems since:D
