You really aren't doing well are you

... nobody said they didnt, please reread my post which clearly says they used the LT77S in the 200TDI and then feel free to point out where I said anything about the TD???

Not only do you feel the need to wrongly insult posters as has been pointed out, you seem incapable comprehending plain English

And Wrong again??? wasn't aware of the first instance so how I can manage a further 'wrong' is beyond me...

Please quit whilst your behind and as has been said feel free to apologise for your earlier wrongly directed insult and errors

Cheers Steve
You tried being smart and it didn't pay off. Which ever way you look at it it's still a LT77 gearbox and not a R380.

Just to join in correcting you after u felt the need to wrongly correct others and attempt to belittle them , u will find its the LT77s (with better synchro) not lt77 IN THE 200tdi

(Pedantic ... yes but u did need correcting as it was stupid :))

Cheers Steve
lt77s or h suffix did have compound baulk rings on 1st and 2nd ,which wasnt really an improvement ,suffix g has earlier baulk rings throughout and with having wider gears as h suffix is the much better box ,200 tdi boxes can be lt77 or lt77s ,200 tdi box is a 56a and other 4cylinder 50a,all input shafts on 50a have 21 teeth 56a 22 teeth same as diaco and rrc ,so 56a is slightly higher geared throughout but only slightly ,which means a 56a disco box can be converted to defender spec and 50a cant

its also difficult to say what box is fitted ,as a 12j or 19j wouldnt have been h suffix from the factory but if had a box fitted later it would be suffix of box that was been made at the time ,thats why some 200 tdis have short bell housing r380s (often wrongly called ashcroft box )fitted, after r380 came in with 300 tdi any defenders with gearbox problems under warrenty would be fitted with an retro style r380 fitted as lt77,

Dummy out :) and such language ;) the last bastion of a knuckle dragging luddite

1 - You screwed up in the first place by posting drivel and wrongly insulted a fellow poster.

2. - I didnt try to be smart I suceeded (a little like a toothless budgie) Its a subtley different box hence the S, so wrong again

3. - you still refuse to acknowledge even your first error and subsequent insult to forum users and dig yourself deeper.

4. - Now you spit your dummy and confirm what we were all thinking

Sometimes it is better to keep quiet and be thought a fool than to open ones mouth and confirm it to all assembled :)

Cheers Steve

Mine is an '86 110 CSW and I believe mine was fitted with PAS as standard. I am not the worlds knowledge on this (like a certain poster above who wishes to abuse the OP and show himself up with incorrect info, judging by other posters... lol).

I am sure someone will correct me in a patronising and demeaning way soon...
