AAGGHHH!!

I kinda believe -Wrongly, that in this great land rover world most people are honestish. Well I know its unlikely that carries on to online auction sites but most of the guys and girls I meet picking up bits and bobs are usually typically friendly and seemingly honest landy fans. One guy is getting blocked for good. I won a set of old diamond tyres bit cracked but alright for the offroader. The guy had one contact saying yes come and collect at the weekend. However provided no address details nor contact details.

Managed to see other items and he sells lots of old land rovers in various states from a farm which is quite suspiciousish. I got his phone number Seems there is no way to report a lack of contact from a seller so I have no choice but to cancel the purchase. Thing is I paid over the odds which doesn't bother me much but lost out on other items believing I had some coming.

Never mind but hey ho more than the purchase or lack of purchase as I know these things happen its the time and effort.

Rant Rant EEK Well the guy is getting blocked from my E bay for good! If you think they sold to cheap or have sold them no problem but would be nice to be told.

Jon-Jones89 you are blocked!

While I sympathise with you about this guy's lack of communication I don't see why it is suspicious that he sells old landys from a farm. I think you'll find that is quite common

I would agree the only suspicion was the selling of many landrovers and the feedback I have since found not dodgy motors you understand but more the volume of motors

To be honest its done with, I won't be buying anything from him again. Not even worried about the item just the wasted time and lack of contact.

you keep ranting you`ll get grouped in with me,
so you must be old
`ish.....
:D

EBAY is a welcome sales site or a pain in the a$$ if it goes wrong.
the worst case we thought we might be scammed was by a french guy from paris who wanted a triumph spitfire mk3 we were selling.
his emails were "strange"
we were suspitious but dont know why..
he turned up at our train station closely guarding his cash, got taken to a place in england he had never been before in his life, got out his cash, signed the V5 for export,
shook hands and asked why we were £1000 too cheap ................
emailed us after folkstone to france then to paris to say the car drove fine, can we get many more like that..

but yes, have had one or two messers on ebay, but just shrug your shoulders and keep selling or buying....
worldwide too... ;)

Lol Yea that's kind of my point even tho Ive had some dodgyish things like wanting to meet in service station somewhere remote and the like where you would be very wary 99% its just another enthusiast. not reallt been burned on Ebay I haven't here tbh just annoyed the time and effort wasted. On to the next one!

Ebay is not only buyers beware but sellers beware as well.

Put a set of tyres up and clearly stated, they had been used off road and was selling them for off road use only. Yes there was the normal nicks and small lumps out of tread blocks to be expected from a tyre used off road. Auction winner was a local 4x4 trader who sells second hand tyres. He wanted ££s knocking off as they had been used OFF ROAD or he would give us negative feedback. Tyres went straight back into storage.

Then there is the wonders of Paypal, friend had a charge back 12 hours before expiry of charge back period so he had no time to prove goods delivered and sign for!

So both some buyers and some sellers on ebay are less then 100% honest.

No function to report unfortunatly.

I har had similar issues with tyres marked OFFROAD ONLY and a guy from the local offroad club turns up for his road car Doh!!
