Good old gasoline will do too. Make sure the intercooler is thoroughly dried before re-installing to avoid the engine running on any residual vapour.
 
I'm not so sure it will be the intercooler, mine smokes quite a bit when driven/reved hard, and that has had a new intercooler fitted in june this year! I think its more likley to be the fuel system (pump/injectors)???
