When you clear the sh1te out if you work a small hook under the front of the base panel and pull it upwards all will be revealed,I've Just done it on mine to remind myself how to remove it.this is what I used.work the tip in,turn 90 degrees and pull up.
there was a tiny little lip around the bottom once I'd removed all the crap inside. Pair of needle nose/circlip pliers got it out quick march :D

I've pretty much got it free everywhere now apart from the front centre console - looks like it's fixed in there somewhere or something has it clamped down? Absolutely zero movement there up over the tunnel, under everything.
The only thing I remember are the two AC drains that stick through the underlay & carpet ? The heater box & evaporator should clear the flooring.

Is it split under there or one piece? It looks a right pig to get to and not sure how I'd pull it all out, really.

Best picture I could find. Two of the holes are for the AC drains. Maybe the easiest would be to cut around the heater, but well under where the side panels fit so you can't see the cuts later ? Or just take the dash out.

No way I'm taking the dash out, I just don't have the space to keep everything just now. That's a good photo though, shows me where I should be able to pull it. Think the forward most holes are for the AC and the rear ones are the rear vents.

Yeah no way of getting that out without dismantling more of the dash.. So with a sharp blade 2 cuts at the top of the tunnel saw it come out with relative ease.

It's now in the utility room with a fan heater blowing up it.
