Drivers door switch

My Drivers door latch is playing up - the switch is triggering the alarm etc..

Has anyone had a drivers door latch assy to bits -
If so what are the pit falls
or has anyone given it a good dose of WD40 and if so did it help?

Any clues would be good

Mine have both right side doors with problem but they does not work at all. Have not take the time to look to it yet but as soon as I have something I'll post it.

ive had mine off!!! and another dorum members, take it all to bits, strip down the latch assy and regrease it, clean plug contacts re assemble and it should be sorted. only nasty bit is the door insulation!!

yeah, not a hard job and dont forget to test it while door card is off, save removing the card and insulation too many times and chancing breakage!

I took one off but did not dare to open it. Does it have any spring or something that I may lose by opening that thing?

nope, i was the same as you, do it carefully so as not to lose anything but nothing will jump out at you!! be brave!!!
