Dremel - worth it, which one?

Thinking of getting a dremel off Ebay for cosmetic stuff, making storage solutions and alike. Also for metal work and cleaning up small welds etc.

Any suggestions on which model? anyone got one to recommend or any advice at all actually
 
Brilliant little tool ive had a couple use for cutting bolts off in tight places fine cutting in cab for instrument's precession filing every shed should have one
 
Cheapest and buy kits of consumables from lidl or aldi when on offer
 
Got a proper dremmel, tbh, can't see why a cheap one wouldn't do the same job, it's just a motor at the end of the day.

Use it more for other stuff than on the landy, but, it is useful to have around, you'll be doing a job and hit a problem and out comes the dremmel, though it does eat cutting discs!

Needed to replace the exhaust downpipe on my D2 for which you need to remove the gearbox crossmember. all 8 bolts corroded and not movable with sockets / spanners. Had to cut them off with a dremel, couldnt get normal 4 1/2 angle grinder near them. Took f***ing ages and loads of cutting discs, but job done, got me out of a fix!
 
Don't know if the others have them but my Dremel came with a flexible drive for getting into tight corners - really handy, wouldn't be without one.
 
IMo no. Toy tool.

Been through 2 dremels - since bought a makita die grinder. As well as having multiple colllets for different tool heads it also has an important thing called torque it doesnt just Tickle the workpiece.

Picked up an air die grinder when i got a compressor and its even better again !

I wouldnt buy a dremel or a copy again.

The flexy heads are good though

Thanks for the info. I ended up spending all my money a Milwaukee drill and impact driver so will have to wait.

Oh really! thanks for the heads up. I'm down with any opportunity to expand my Milwaukee collection and drain my bank balance.
