Hi,
I am new on this forum so apologies if this thread has already been over discussed.
I purchased a 2017 Evoque convertible last October and have had problems with the amber engine management light coming on frequently. The latest issue has been diagnosed as an internal crack on the DPF and I have been quoted £1,700 to supply and fit a new one!!!
I recently found an article online about the DPF being a common problem on certain models of Land Rovers and Jaguars, of which my Evoque was one of the mentioned models. Has anyone else had similar problems or offer advice on what my next course of action should be, as I feel this is an issue that should be paid for by Land Rover if it is a common fault.
Thanks

Your rights after 30 days
If a fault comes to light between 30 days and six months of buying a vehicle, you’re entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

It’s assumed in law that the fault was present at the time of purchase unless the seller can prove otherwise.

Hard to prove if the warning light wasn't on at the time of purchase unless the fault code history can be accessed.

I didn't realise this, thank you. Maybe I should contact the garage I purchased it from then.

I'd like to know how they know it has an internal crack, unless they cut the casing open to look at the filter element, then welded it back together again.

Go back to the original seller, as a first step to getting the issue resolved.

You can go down legal routes if needed, but it's less hassle to simply get it repaired properly, by someone whose not so keen to fleece you, although with an Evoque, that might be difficult. :D
