Does anyone know if the threaded plate, which the door striker bolt fastens to, is semi captive in the B pillar?
I appreciate that it can move about to adjust the door fit, but if I remove the bolt fully, will I lose the plate, or will it remain in roughly the same position in the B post.
The reason for the query is that removing the bolt would give a useful access for injecting some wax inside the B & C posts, but I don't want to have to strip all the inner plastic bits to find the threaded plate I've just lost.
