On my mates 38. Happened quite suddenly he says, making opening the door difficult, he's popping round mine this afternoon so I can have a look (works nights). Looking at mine, there are bolts both sides of the door(osf) so I'm guessing there will be adjustment there? Door lifts 25mm in play on the trailing edge.

Worn hinge pin most likely rather than adjustment.

He popped by today. Hinge pin and /or hinge pin bore worn, top is bad, bottom less so. Plan is to remove the door and hinges and see what's what at a later date as he was off to work again. If the pins are as hard as the check strap pins then they will be fine but the hinge pin bore will be oval. Might weld and redrill or drill and fit an oversize pin which is what I did for my check straps.

Bore and bush might be easier than welding if you have access to a lathe
