dodgy electrics

hello every one i have a 1954 series 1 .i have limited mechanical knowledge but have sorted some minor problems in the past..wednesday night returning from work in the dark all electrical power was lost leaving me to get towed home (gutted)...had a quick look today cant see anything obvious any body out there got any ideas ????

As Lisbeth has already said, you'd be best asking your question in the appropriate vehicle section. In the meantime, check the drive belt then all the connections especially the earths around the battery and the generator (I presume it's a dynamo and not an alternator), check the brushes and also the charging control box.
