Ok.

You just waggle it out backwards using your fingers, it may resist.
It has to be tight to hold vacuum.

You an use a teeny amount of wd40 on the grommet but be sure to degrease it after.
When refitting use a little spit.

Yes all I was asking was for some advice not to be told my question was too trivial. I guess you long standing members were clueless to start!?! Is this an online forum or part of the Old boy's Network! I appreciate the help I have had.. I am sorry to of offended anyone.. We all have to start somewhere...?!?!
We all have to start somewhere but I know I didnt start on something as essential as brakes and servos. Anyone who thinks that it is a good place to start, is a danger to themselves and others.
The 'themselves' bit , I don't really care about.

You might add that like everything else on the L322, the braking system is not simple.

Unable to check today... unreal weather... Monday hopefully.. Btw everyone the car is off the road....so not a danger to anyone...! thanks fo asking :) petrol proper stuff ;)
I gather you are having some rather rough weather in your neck of the woods, its been a lovely sunny day here in Lincoln 24c still 20c outside now, has been a tad windy though to say the least, hope it improves soon for you.

Hi to be honest it's always horrendous here!! Nr Betws Y Coed... weather is a sore point.... dampness most of the year.. seems as though it's still summer everywhere else!! Hmm..

Hello to all contributors... thought I'd check in and give an update..
Further to my brake problem, I have changed 3 calipers shoes and pads, checked the servo which is sucking like a good'un... One way valve into servo good also... My brake pedal is still hard and will not stop the vehicle properly when pushing HARD down on the pedal!! so still not on the road... at my wits end! help?? what on earth could this be.... :(

Hey, did you try the process in the video?
Try this with the engine running, listen around the brake pedal area in side for any hissing. See if there is any difference with the pedal pushed down or left alone.
When you pulled the vacuum pipe from the servo did it hiss?
What mileage is on the bus and what colour was the brake fluid originally?;)

Hi Mark..
DIdn't check the hiss at brake pedal... will do! though today, if there was... what would this mean obviously a leak?? with vacuum pipe removed yes a powerful hiss.
46k genuine mileage.. don't know the brake fluid original colour..
I also have the dreaded flat battery after a few days on a new expensive battery....:( After many searches it maybe the final stage resistor on the blowers?? electrics on this car Hmm!

BTW with foot pressure applied to the pedal, it dips a little... also when turning off engine pedal rises a little when foot is on pedal. If that makes sense.

@Sylvesters dad whilst you're in amongst things, have you checked the brake pipes? Might be connected , might not BUT the L322 has been discovered to have an issue with the pipes rusting, and not being noticed as they are hidden away.

Good point goldi'.
When pressing the brake pedal, does it drop when you start the RR?
If you have a vacuum to the servo from the manifold and no assistance on the pedal you have either a stiff master cylinder or the diaphragm could have failed in the servo?
Failing that a blockage in the system due to delamination if pipes or seals broken down??
Are there any extra balance/distribution valves on this system? Even the abs module?
It may be an idea to have a some help from someone in a physical form as well before wading into the system...

Interesting. Predictive text changed ' rusting' to 'foreboding' 71AvLmcCUfL._UX395_.jpg
