I do my own if I can but at the moment both of my hands are bad with carpal tunnel which is very painful and can not grip anything , but I have noticed a spot of oil where I park so need to get the son in law down to have a look, but if I did take it to a garage I always supply a box and ask them to give me the old parts back!

well can you believe it I found the oil leek which is a easy fix , and how many times have I read on here about oil coming out of the bolt hole that holds the engine cover on , although mine is a later freelander 1 TD4 auto hse 2006 it only has the small cover ,but it still has that bolt hole on offside of the engine ,I left the cover off to see if my son in law had done the filter change properly (I just like to check now and then) and that is what has caused all oil over the top of my engine and dripping down the side .thus ending up on the floor where I park, so today bad hands or no bad hands I am going to have to clean it all off , and check the oil. how stupid have I been , no do not answer that I know!:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:
