My Dizzys electronic ignition is burnt out as a result of the coil wires being put back wrong

Can I just remove the knackered Electronic ignition and replace it with a new kit, rather than buying another Distributor?

You should be able to.
I have just fitted an electronic conversion kit to a standard dizzy and that works OK.
This is what I fitted

Yes lots of kits around, ebay has loads.

Did you use standard coil or upgrade?

I just ordered the Britpart one from MM landrover. Its cheap I know but if it does the job? It also works with standard coils so works well for me!
