More a question of curiosity than anything but how are the Dixon Bate coil and spring hitches different?

Are the coil ones hung lower due to the last of suspension lowering?

Well incase anyone else wonders I found out the air version hangs 32mm lower.

Is that the klunky looking thing with the separate plate that holds the tow ball?
