Just to keep you all updated, I used a hawkeye to see what was going on but wouldn't connect to the ecu ,
Got a second hand ecu and plugged in the hawkeye and bobs your uncle and all that,
All the lights came on but obviously wouldn't start,
Going to try coding injectors later,

keep you guys updated,

Don't want to put you off but injector coding is a fine tuning exercise, I very much doubt it would prevent starting of the engine.
When my defender was acting up.the nanocom would boot up but would not read from the ECU, but with the new relay fitted then it started to read, by the way there were no faults logged in the ECU.

Did you check voltage at the main relay?

Cheers

There was no correspondence with 2 different diagnostic tools,

Plugged In the spare ecu and all up and running, I.e. fuel pump, glow plugs and reading diagnostics,
