That's interesting, I always thought the Safari one went through the wing and into the side of the airbox that is facing the wing.
Matt - How easy was it fitting the guard? Did you have to trim your bumper?
Is it this one? Land Rover Discovery 1 steering guard | eBay

I agree nick... pikeys arrived today.. he said it looked a good buy.. template was a good un anorl
OMG I will be stoping well away from them !!! I did look at them and wonderd if they would be any good. Thank you for sharing your experiance with us.
That sounds the way to go. To me mateYou're right that sounds like a feckin nightmare.
If you want a snorkel just keep watching them on ebay. I got a second hand genuine safari with template and all fixings for £120 a couple of weeks back and it only took 2 hours to fit start to finish.
I got one of the ebay cheap ones and it was **** easy to fit with only minor adjustments
pretty sure mine was the same mate I did have to trim the flange that bolts to the airbox but other than that it was easy enough, even tho i little bit of ****ing about and you saved over a ton so win win!!I'm sure it was. Which just shows that quality control is none existant and when you buy one, it really is the luck of the draw.
Mine came in a box marked "Landroverparts.net" where did yours come from??
made mine outta a few bits of discarded galv gutter downpipe.....cost me £20 for the top and a few notes for a bit of hose to connect to airbox......happy me
Got a load of Ally rainwater pipe here and did think about a diy one but couldn't be arsed.
By the sounds of it it took longer for you to fit yours than it did to make up mine......I feckin hate it when I buy something to do the job.....and it doesn't
many thanks redhand..
still sounds like its worth a go.. even with the mods it sounds easier than totally fabricating one from scratch..
the other option is Southdown Snorkel Top & Wing Moulding LR Discovery | eBay
its internal diameter is 2.5 inch which is 63.5mm..
is it possible to to get pvc pipe in 2.5 inch? instead of puttin a bend 4 inch from end, could seal a piece of pipe into each side of the wing molding?
bit skint at the moment... so £200+ is not an option..
tried searchin on ebay but not having any success...
cheers joe...
but think i'm gonna try gettin a full kit after xmas, mith my xmas muny..
r lass cant complain bout it then... lol...
