Yeah what i mean is that it's so high it'll need active cornering enhancement to get around :D

That is actually a joke though, it will drive just like mine which is fine, cos the body lift doesn't make much difference.

It is a monster now mate, yes I am jealous because it is taller and all the bits are new. Rust and mud really do spoil the beauty :( :(

Always a great feeling when you get a project rolling on its new wheels, and big props to you Ian for getting it together so well! :5bcheers2:

Cheers Shortarse.

Yeah the wheels are really great, I am chuffed to bits with them. Not bad for £32 a rim and £98 a tyre fitted all in.

Downside is that the suspension and wheels cost more than the car itself and then you add in the time spent cutting the rust out and it is an expensive exercise but well worth it.

Trying to get it done in the next fortnight so I can MOT it and use it but something called Christmas has got in the way.

Mr Noisy

Was your Disco on the front of a certain Land Rover Mag this month?

For reference guys, my the bottom of my suspension turret and the bottom of the front edge of my wing is in line with the top of my tyre.

So, yours is blummin high right now!! :D

Trailing Arms

So now that the arse of the Disco is a little lifted - why am I thinking of Kylie Minogue? :D:D:D - it time to think about the other suspension tits and boobs.
Sorry bits and bobs.

After a snatch - bugger - SEARCH - I have found a few thread on the subject of trailing arms but I want to be more specific inner thighs - sorry - in my thoughts.

My initial thoughts were that by having cranked trailing arms it would aid in the articulation of the axle, this may be true but why? Is it because they are slightly longer or just because they are cranked to ensure that the bush is not stressed when the suspension is at breast - rest.

With this in mind is it safe to say that these cranked trailing arms are more for helping the bush - umm Kylie - than to return the flange - - to parallel with the gearbox. If indeed the flange is moved during a lift.

So now there are a number of choices out in the market place. Some are double cranked, one assumes this is to aide clearance more than anything else. Some have angle welded to them. I imagine this is because, looking at them, they are so weedy they need the extra strength :D rather than providing more protection.

Then you have the rose jointed ones which on the face in her tits - face of it - will be better but I would imagine, through experience, they would be harsh and noisy.

Can anal body help in my choice of trailing arms? Is it better if you are replacing the bush anyway, to replace the bush with a rose joint.

I do understand that by removing the restriction at the minge - sorry bush end tit will appear somewhere else such as axle a frame mounts or tyre rubbing against the rim - sorry arch.

Typing is hard tits been a long tights - night sorry:doh:

OK so today was spent just wanting to get the brakes back together. Through the week I have cleaned and painted the rear calipers and despite the outside of them being ****e, the face where the pads rest are good so worth keeping.

The bleed nipples are buggered though and I can't bleed them through so will have to bleed via the pipe for now.

So the day is over and the rear calipers are on and connected. The new extended hose is also connected and looks very nice. I managed to clean all the brake pipes with wire wool so they look like new too.

Unfortunately the lt corner of the car, the offside front, was a bastard. Both the front brake pipes going from the master cylinder to the flexi hoses snapped off at the coupling. It has bee a long few months and this just took the ****. Anyone would have thought the car was a complete right off and I now have no toys in my pram, I completely threw them out!

So to finish the day off I painted the hubs black as they poke through the new wheels and I left it at that.

My plan is to have the car done for Christmas so have a short amount of time to complete. Please pray lol

Cheers Matt I appreciate that. Will be finishing the brake pipes later tonight in the garage and then tomorrow I might get them bled lol.

I do fancy your tank guard. Very nice.

Still think your spots would suit a bigger truck.........

Doesn't feel like a hobby at the moment lol....

Spots look great and I will place them on may Xmas list. I would like some free time to model a winch bumper of my own so that will have to wait for a while.

Going to go out and finish the pipes in a mo. so much for an early night.

Just get a set of new bleed nipples and rubber caps. Not dear of britpart or a brake parts supplier of you have one local.

Tight fitting rubber caps help me a lot, saves digging the mud out and grit blocking my bleeder.

Has yours got copper pipes throughout? I was lucky that someone had replaced all mine with copper previous to me owning it, saved me a job and much easier to work with when undoing seized joints!
