Page 8 I know, I was looking around and suddenly tumble weeds flew past.

Seriously though I am saving myself for the weekend when I will have the offside inner wing done. I may even make a video for you and may include the Disco lol hah I'm soo funny.

Ok I am getting Syked up for the last push. Inner wing, suspension and brakes with a chassis paint in between.

I'm sorry it's a little quiet but I don't see the point in posting for the sake of it, hope that's OK with you guys.

Thanks for thinking of me though - makes it all worth while when people are interested too.

Hi All,

Well another weekend and another day spent on the the GreenHornet. Today I had a plan to get the offside inner wing welded in and the rear suspension disassembled and ready for painting the chassis and axle and I can say that I just about managed it.

First of all the offside headlight panel needed removing. I have learnt by all my previous mistakes and this time I used a spot weld drill. This created a much cleaner job and not more bashing the living **** out of a panel with a cold chisel

As you can see the headlight panel and front body mount came away in one very rusty piece. The panel behind wasnt too bad and I trimmed off the old rusty edge and made good.

The repair that had been done by the previous monkey dumb ass bitch for brain tosser - sorry - previous owner ****witt

was a horrible abortion of metal that simply covered over the rusty stuff. I had great pleasure in cutting all this out.

Once all this was done I decided to just poke that bit of metal to make sure it was solid - oh **** its another hole

so another patch panel was created and I seam welded the whole edge to make sure it was strong. Well you might as well as your here eh

So after just 2 hours I was ready to weld in the new panels. 40minutes later and its all done and primed with seam sealer ontop. Now its ready for a coat of paint and underneath I will be painting with underseal to make sure its all going to last.

Once I had got the front painted I then turned my attention to the rear. I managed to remove the old suspension including the springs, shocks and the mounts. All the chassis has had a wire brusing and is ready for paint.

Finally to wind the day up I removed the calipers. Had to hit them with a rubber mallet to get them off. Basically they are knackered and will take some cleaning but I will give it a go and send through pictures as I do.

So tomorrow I will begin painting...... yea

And another weekend has gone and what the hell happened?

So do you ever get that feeling that the days merge into weeks and the weeks into months and then suddenly you realise that the repair your doing today wasn't there when you started 11months ago......... seems like a weekend like that.......

Well boyz she is back on her wheels and holding her arse off the ground without the aid of axle stands and if you ever wonder what a disco looks like with a 3" lift on the suspension and a 2" lift on the body, well here she is. Yes she is on standard wheels but the new ones arrive tomorrow

I have posted a standard height then 2" body lift and finally a 3" suspension lift.

The suspension is great and you can see a real difference from the old rear suspension and then the new components. The front set up is particularly nice although it is let down by no bumper or lights at present.

so a big thanks to Gummy Bear who came ad painted the underneath for me and then helped with the seating of the springs.

So how did it all go I hear you ask.
Well Saturday started off with me painting the rear of the chassis in readiness for the new items. Then with the help of Gummy Bear the front suspension was stripped off and he then painted the front whilst I built up the rear.

I am still unsure if the disslocation cones at the rear (they are hooked) are fitted correctly but wont really be able to tell until I do the good old articulation test

Anyhow the front set up looks great. The base of the springs are at a very acute angle compared to the dampers although it seems to sit OK. The front cones are a pain in the arse and are very close to the dampers at full articulation. Already the dampers have some paint missing which has ****ed me off

so I wouldn't recomend these front dislocation cones, then again perhaps its just me fitting them wrong :doh:

With all the front and rear done it was time to put her back on her wheels and after much expectation of how high she would be, it was an anticlimax to have her sit just as high as she was when on the stands

but then again she is fooking high

the front edge of the bonnet now sits just above my elbow.

so what left to put back on?

Front and Rear brake pipes
Exhaust
Headlights - oh yeah how do the plastic mounts fit on anyone...
Front brace between the body mounts
Boot floor - now steel or chequer plate ....... ummm
Rear Bumper
Front Winch Bumper
Wheels Arch Extensions
Snorkel
Fit the interior

Yeah thats another weekend gone

Hope you all like the picks and I will post another pic as soon as the new wheels are fitted tomorrow......get in there, Event tyres are supplying and fitting 4 GT radial adventuros in 33x12.5x15 for £98 each including VAT. Now thats a bargain.....

That will be ridiculously tall when you've added 2" of tyre height to the mix aswell!

You're definitely going to have to cut the arches out!!

Looking good that. the rear cones are fitted the right way round mate as they catch the last coil at the top in the inside as when the axle drops and the spring comes out of its seat it pushes towards to outside of the car. just one thing the end of the coil should be looking at you if you get me, ie opposite the hook end of the cone!!!

Just let us know as and when you want to take a look at my front end..... ooh err

I wish I was sponsored by Terrafirma - It would be cheaper and they could have fitted it for me

I did have a look at a lot of equipment on the market and thought that Terrafirma represented good value for money. I am dissappointed with the front cones though. I do plan on having the springs fastened at the top and the dis cones at the bottom eventually.

Thanks for the heads up on the springs, I had no idea there was a correct orientation to fit them. Guess I will be underneath this week changing them around when fitting the wheels which will be done today.

Pop around any evening (Just text) and have a look, I can then take a couple of shots of you lights plus see how the headlight brackets are fitted.

Ive got a winch bumper on the front (no winch

), but ive shorted the chassis a lil bit so it dont stick out so much, will let you know how it looks when its on

Also i have a bull bar.. front and back for sale, needs a small amount of work but fits ok an d looks good, ill get a pic on later if your interested.

The rear is just a straight pole with 2 bolts sticking out of it, the front has the usual fixings.

Thanks Discomark, I do like the bumpers however I really have my eye on a similar bumper to the rear of Mr Noisy's and I am nodelling up a front of my own - hope you dont mind but thanks for the offer I do appreciate it.

Anyhow back onto tonight - (Drum Roll Please - Da Da Daaa)

So today I had arranged Event Tyres to come and fit the new GT Radials to teh new rims. So at about 2pm my missus text me a picture of the tyres being fitted and boy they looked nice.

So when I got home I couldn't resist, I got stuck straight in and fitted them to the car. I had a carefull look and I think I have gained a good 2" almost under the diff and widened the car by about a foot

Obviously I need to cut the arches and fit the extended rubber thingymajigs so they will have to wait until after chrimbo unless anyone wants an hour with my body.............................anyone...............................only £140 and Im a gentle lover............................................... ah well

anyhow check out the look - the bonnet is up to my shoulder

My missus has some photos with a flash so I will post them asap.
