Things brings nice things to my brain!
Your Discovery 1 300 TDi is looking fantastic, I really like your choice of modifications!
In fact a lot of what you are doing is what I am planning with mine, so don't accuse me of copying! Actually you can, I don't care, I'm still doing it how I want it!!
When you getting out to play now? GET VIDYOS AND PICS!
tdis dont airlock ,they either have not enough coolant or are losing it
check rad gets hot all over ,top hose does tooMaybe the thermostat was knackered?
I could only get it to cool back down by turning the heaters on full

Proper old skool mechanicing! Can't do that today unless the computer has a "drill and helicoil" optionThe Discovery was overheating - I think it was caused by an airlock, as on the top of the thermostat housing the wrong bolt is present. It was also leaking a lot of water from there.
So I bought a replacement thermostat housing and thought it would take me about 45 minutes to change it over. How i was wrong...
The last bolt snapped in the head, and to me that's just game over. Luckily my dad is a mechanic and he cam to the rescue. Drilled out the old bolt and used a helicoil for the replacement - I didn't take any pictures of the process sadly.
Here is the snapped bolt, though.
and the new thermostat housing.
Fitted some front spots.
I've finally fitted the rear bumper too!
Foz
If it doesn't get hot all over what would that point to?
Rad could be choked or fecked ...
Water is not circulating correctly ...
if it doesnt get hotall over replaceMaybe the rad has seen better days.
But I took the rad off and cleaned it out earlier, was full of filthy water but it is flowing freely now.
Hopefully after cleaning everything out and flushing the system it will be ok.

Are the aluminium / plastic ones from of the bay the ones you mean? I have bought 2 so far but not used in anger.
Nice thread. Looking to do a body lift at some point as well.
How did you fit your rear bumper? Did you had to modify the chassis? Front is quite easy with just the holes moved.
Cheers.
