How come you ended up forking out £900 then?

I was glad I had that old one, he is rebuilding it whilst I can keep using the car!

He originally wanted £1550 for the job and the best quote I had locally was £1250 but I bargained him down from £800 as he has the best rep locally and I dont want another feckup on my hands!

Hi all, im gutted as this is such a good truck but its stressing me out, i live in Grantham, im going to get her home and maybe start trying a few things myself, but im not a mechanic, but ill have a go, with your help, thanks again.

Hi all, im in Grantham, Lincs, im going to get her home and try a few things suggested, just cant afford a money pit, who can eh!, its just this was such a good truck its ****ed me off, ill keep you posted, keep the suggestions coming, thanks.

Hi all, was stood outside the garage for a week, started first time ran for a few minuetes then died and wouldnt re-start, mmmm,

what checkes have you done then? giving it to a garage to figure out i find never resolves anything unless they are a landy garage. theres loads of theads on starting and ignition probs on here if you search for them so im not going to re write them all again lol

Hi, i think your right, been there 4 weeks now and no further forward!! it has started up a few times, then after a minuette or 2 it just dies away and then wont re-start, just want to get it home now and try a few things myself, im being told that who ever fitted the LPG system has canablised the loom so much he doesnt know where to start to find the fault, the wiring is a mess which is probably whats causing the problem, going to try an ECU replacement, and get a fuel pressure regulator as a start, what a pain!

Hi, went to the garage on Friday started first time after been standing for a week, ran for ten mins, then drove it home about a mile, died on the drive!!! and wouldnt re-start. checked dip stick, oil stinks of petrol, just tried pulling vac hose off and turning ignition on, nothing came out so dont think its that, wonder if its the ECU? but no warning lights on. if theres any landy mechanics in the Grantham area looking for a job let me know

Just an easy thought, have you ckecked the adjustment screw for the idle speed, which is on the throttle body/inlet manifold.

As some on here will know I am not an expert at adjusting that bit lol but when I last fecked it up it was because I had it so far undone it was soakng the plugs with petrol so they were dripping. If its already fecked wouldnt hurt to wind it in a bit. Mine seems to run (when it has a spark lol) best about 2 1/2 turns out from fully wound in.

Spoke to a mechanic this morning on the phone, he has asked me to crank the engine over for 5 secs, then check each spark plug for fuel to see which injectors are failing, he thinks the injector / s have failed which happens in the "open" position apparently. however i have been doing more resurch, with the amount of fuel going through the engine into the sump i think the ECU has a problem which has opened all the injectors fully all the time. i have the silver alloy LUCAS ECU LRZ170 under the drivers seat, anyone got any theories, im going to do that check tonight, i think all the plugs will be wet with petrol, if this is the case i doubt that 8 injectors could all fail together, so it would point at what controls the injectors, namely the ECU. ill let you know.
