Discover TD5 GS Rear Suspension problem - help!

Hi folks,

I seem to have a bit of a problem with my rear suspension. All was working fine yesterday, however, my disco was bouncing all over the place today and noticed the rear suspension on both wheels were lying low? I've tried adjusting the rear suspension button on the dash and one of wheels seems to be back to normal but the passenger side is still low.

Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a bag or bags leaking. One way to tell is make a soapy solution up, cover both bags, start vehicle and get someone to bounce on back of truck while you watch for bubbles.

Have you noticed it sat on its bump stops when its been left for any length of time?

Excuse my ignorance but what's bump stops?

I take it repairing\replacing the bags is an expensive business?

bump stops are rubber blocks on the chassis.

Bags are about £75 each, changing em is a bit of a fiddly job, but not beyond DIY'er.

I called Taggarts Land Rover in Glasgow to find out the cost of the major parts involved.

Compressor - £288 + VAT
Sensors? - 27 each + VAT
Bags - 202 each + VAT

I've booked my disco in this week at a local garage so hopefully they can get the parts cheaper and I won't need all of the above to get it back on the road.

The bags are £80 ish at paddocks.....

Bags at Paddocks £63.80+vat each:

RKB101200 Rear Air Spring - including 2 clips (WEB EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL OFFER)

Oldish post and a subject discussed many times but this is an easy job if you follow the guide posted on here, if its not too late, order the bags yourself (if they leak after soapy water test) print instructions off and do it your self.

i aint got a clue around motors really and did this myself, took me longer to remove a wheel from hub than replace both springs, all in all 1hr 20.

I hope its not too late and you aint forked out at a garage
