If you get the EKA code and it all works as it should.

... Have them change the alarm setting to "always" , this should allow you to unlock the car without the alarm / immobiliser being an issue.
Just a small correction, only the alarm is not an issue with the 'always' setting, to be able to start it the passive immobiliser must be disabled as well otherwise if the problem is the receiver or the fob the passive immobiliser will not let it start

to make any setting you have to remobilise it first with EKA code, the BCU is ''locked" while it's immobilised

Does this mean it could still be the receiver in the roof I noticed the range on the for wasn’t all that good but thought this was due to it being an older car and it has often been hit and miss involving my doing the discovery dance to lock the car as I walk away would the reciver in the roof being dead stop the car from mobilising as I thought this was just to unlock and lock the car there is no sign of water in it however I’m willing replace it if there’s a chance it will fix my problem

you can try your luck and simply replace the receiver cos that's plug and play, especially if the led on the fob works when you push a button...

Hi again I fitted the new antenna and had no luck tested the wires leaving the antenna and this is definitely receiving the signal I dunno what to do is the any way to programme a used bcu to my car or not if not I will just buy another set of dials and both Ecu and bcu do I need the barrel aswell or? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
Also am planning a visit to landrover to try to get the eka code

Your LR main dealer will provide the EKA for your vehicle free of charge (Back street Land Rover "specialists" might charge). You will need to provide proof of ownership. The EKA should work as long as nobody has changed it for some reason or other in the past.
Until the immobiliser has been disabled either by the normal action of the key fob or application of the EKA, no code reader/diagnostic device will be able to communicate with the vehicle.

Ok many thanks for the reply I will investigate this weekend will the receiver not working cause my key to stop the car from mobilising?
