Hi everyone I have a discovery 2 xs and have had the car for a few months now loving it with my country road however the car had to be recovered after an mot as it wouldn’t start or unlock using the fob I have checked for signs of water in the bcu fuse box and antenna however there was none can anyone help also when I was on my way to get it mot’d the srs light came on but when off once I turned it off and on again. I’m gutted about this as it passed it mot and now this happens please help thanks in advance also you can hear the full pump running

If it is immobilised then you will not be able to get he EKA code, which it sounds like it is. the places you can get it are listed in that attachment.

Is the little light on the fob lighting up when you press the button on it?

Cheers

Yeh light blinks when buttons are pressed and key has a new battery as I thought it was that causing it at first I’ve also tried both keys

OK, then you need to get the EKA code. Make sure to follow the instructions word for word when you enter it.

I would personally start looking at the RF receiver to see if that is broken. Double check the earth is good on it.

Cheers

Oh, have you tried the D2 dance , stand by the rear sunroof trying to get the fob as close to it as you can while waving your arms around? and pressing the fob buttons?

Cheers

Hmmmm....been there, done that. Doing the disco dance in a public place with passers-by staring at you in admiration has to be one of the highest points of disco ownership.....wait, no, it's not:oops:

Bet you looked silly...............I know we have all done it at some point,,,LOL

Have a read of the attachment, have a look in your paperwork for the EKA code.

Cheers
I have looked through all paperwork for eka code and had no luck will phone landrover or got to my local one with all my document to see if they will give it me this weekend

Haha luckily there wasn’t many people around when I was doing it just the people in the garage nearby

I have checked the earths from the reciver and also the 2 from the bcu

If you get the EKA code and it all works as it should.

Then while you are investigating the issue, if you find someone with a nanocom ( I also understand a Hawkeye can do this) Have them change the alarm setting to "always" , this should allow you to unlock the car without the alarm / immobiliser being an issue.

Cheers

Ok many thanks and I know someone with a car soft programme witch can get into the bcu to do so hopefully if the eka code works however will this not just deactivate the alarm?

If it does not work, as once the fob is in the ignition, the fob communicates and sends a signal to the RF receiver. Then you can disable the immobiliser and the alarm using diagnostics totally. However I am not sure if the carsoft works on this.

Cheers
