Disco rot!!

Hey guys just wondering how far a disco can rot before it is too far gone I can weld pretty well and will be doing work myself with help of friends when needed any advice great fully received

Anything can be saved if your willing to put the work in and handy with a welder.

In some ways, if your looking for a project, I would rather buy one with a decent mileage, good bodywork and interior etc. but needing a lot of welding, they can be had fairly cheaply, if you budgeted on doing boot floor, rear body crossmember, both sills, and 2 front inner wings + patching on other bits, you could have the truck stripped out and get the welding done fairly quick, money wise, I suppose you would be looking at £1000 worth of panels from YRM (their definitely worth the money) and then your time to weld, underseal etc. If you do a decent job, and protect car properly afterwards, you could have a disco for life with a good few welding free years and you may have spent £2k on the truck and parts, possibly less,
Or you could buy the best you can find for £2k and end up doing the work bit by bit for the next couple of years anyway.
