Disco II coolant loss

Anyone give me some guidance?
I have just bought a Disco II TD5 170000km, full service history and almost mint condition. However, I notice that the coolant level drops quite quickly. Done the usual checks for leaks etc but nothing visible. The oil is ok with no signs of emulsifying so I think the head gasket is ok. Somewhat baffled now so if anyone can give me pointers?

I just bought a Disco 2 v8 about a month ago. My coolant was leaking also so I took it in to my local shop and they said that I need a new head gasket. So I took it in to the nearest dealer to have it fixed. It could be the same deal with yours.

loosing that amount of coolant would definately show up in the oil or bottle if it was a head gasket

Thanks guys, Had the Rad tested today and it shows a leak and the head gasket is ok. Currently being fixed as we speak!

Yes but not necessarily if it's a cracked head - a cracked exhaust port just shunts the coolant straight out the back. Keep an eye on coolant if you're replacing the rad - if the system is pressurising that can be enough to cause rad problems and replacing the rad may not cure the basic problem.
